As the new year starts, so does all the new projects…


So with new projects comes the evolution of font libraries and I wanted to make sure you come into the year prepared with a awesome curated list of free for commercial use fonts.

  1. Lazne –


    Lanze is currently my favorite condensed font with sharp angles and variations of contrast and weight. Whether it is for the music industry, sports scene, editorial, I think this font can be ama main contender for your font library.

  1. Departure –


    Next we have Departure, a awesome mono typeface that I felt did a really good job at accomplishing that airplane ticket aesthetic. Not only that, but I feel it could really help bring a lot of character to sub text in projects that lean into that futuristic world while remaining familiar.

  1. Halo Grotesk –

    Halo Grotesk is next, and purposefully right after Depature because I felt thee two paired with be a match made in heaven for any AI, robotic, or future font.

    Granted it is hyper specific to that realm of future tech, inspired by the nothing company it seems but for a free font, I am sure so many awesome tech company logos can come from this.

  1. Nothing Pena —

    Probably a font that'll take over instagram in the next few months because of its quirky and fun spirited style. Feels awesome for campaigns that need that touch of authenticity and reliability. Or a playful coffee shop vibe. I personally used it on a few projects already and it helps capture the vibe you need perfectly.

  1. Pipec —

    Pipec, a dope bold typeface waiting to be used in the edgy, street wear like world with its simi Y2K esk look. Definitely another specific font but one where when it’s needed in the album cover world or apparel, it can give you the stance you want. Download.

    Next is Radlush - gotta have your range of sans serif typefaces that you’ll probably love for a few weeks then move onto the next one.

    But it features 6 weights, making it imperfect for display, sub headings, logos or even paragraph text. Very unique curves and such when you take a  closer look. And just outright dope.

  2. Sineas —


    A contemporary grotesque style san serif that is sophisticated and has 18 distinct styles. Ill be honest I planned on gate keeping a little longer but it gives helvetica a run for it’s money. It feels timeless and bold then versatile enough to really help in the sub text world.

  3.  Swomp —

    It’;s almost impossible to find genuinely nice and finished bubble fonts - so much so you don’t see them often unless you’re looking towards major experimental campaigns. But this bubble font comes in regular, 3D, sloppy outline, display, & outline. 100% free, that’s insane.
